Alright Shakka, you get an A+ for combining my two favorite songs of the moment to create something oh so fresh! If you don’t pay close attention one would think what’s the big deal? They only mashed up a Goyte and Usher song… but, dear oh dear the kicker is all the instrumentation was done by beat-boxing! This uber talented man takes popular songs then throws some magic on there to recreate innovative sounds. C’mon man, give this man a deal already!

Go on and take a trip to YouTube Land.

isthisAFRICA: Rwanda: Remembrance Day.

isthisafrica:

As we many around the world take this weekend to celebrate Easter, the people of Rwanda are remembering another event. 18 years ago today, the devastating 100 day genocide started, leaving 800,000 to a million people dead.

Our thoughts are with all the citizens of Rwanda around the world as…

Africa’s second female President and Southern Africa’s first, Malawi’s new President Joyce Banda is a fierce advocate for the rights of women, particularly marginalised rural women as well as the education of young girls. She was sworn in as President on Saturday in the nation’s capital, Lilongwe, following the death of President Bingu Wa Mutharika. She will govern until the next election, which is scheduled for 2014.
To a many people, a peaceful succession in Africa such as this one is impossible. Over the last week, the international news focus was on Bingu’s health and of course peppered with predictions of a power struggle in the country, and further predictions of an imploding Malawi. Once again, we show that African Democracy can and does work. Onward to prosperity, Malawi!

Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh in the Hunger Games).

Raised in Lagos Nigeria, Dayo Okeniyi (Pronounced: Die-o Okay-ni-yii) began acting in theatre at his elementary school.

In 2003, Okeniyi, the youngest of five siblings, moved from Nigeria with his family to the United States. His father, now a retired customs officer and mother, a British literature teacher, were adamant that their children receive an education in the United States. Dayo Okeniyi received a Bachelor’s degree of visual communications design in 2009. After College he decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting, his true passion.
